I copied and pasted the URL to see what the website was. It showed a calendar file and gave me two options. I simply chose open with Calendar. It opened my calendar and listed 85 holidays and asked if I wanted to add them to my calendar. It gave me the choice to add to an existing calendar or create one. I chose to create a separate holiday calendar. Worked great! Thank you very much!!!

A couple of things: 1) Make sure you are on the Internet when you do this. 2) Double check the URL to make sure it is correct. I have verified that the URL you used is still functioning. So, maybe you weren’t on the Internet when you tried it???

When I try to add the holidays to my IPad 2 using http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/en.usa%23holiday%40group.v.calendar.google.com/public/full.ics, I get a message saying “unable to verify account”. Any help in getting holidays onto my IPad 2 would be appreciated. Thanks a ton.

A year and a half later, and nothing has changed from what I wrote above, except now our bond ratings are being downgraded. As I predicted, watered-down health care reform was passed, unemployment is still virtually unchanged and that vortex you see forming in the bowl of the toilet is the US, going down the drain.
